Good Luck Wishes for
the Women Eagles

Updated 9.20.06
WomenEagles.com would like to give Women Eagle fans a chance to post their good luck wishes/congratulations to the team. If you would like to add your message here, send to: Good Luck Women Eagles! We will post your messages daily.

Congratulations to all of you! What an accomplishment this is for the women who play rugby around the United States. Continue to work hard and while this victory is fresh in your hearts, keep the next World Cup in your minds. Way to go!
Shawna Mullins
formerly teammates with Kristin Z./ Phaidra Knight / Kate Turpin
it's truly an honor to have played with all three of you and to have played against others of you. Congrats again!

To all that have travelled, sent e-mails, posted to WomenEagles.com or watched our tests by internet, you have our heartfelt thank you! It was hard being away from our teammates, friends and loved ones, our daily routine, and our nearest coffee shop for almost a month. However, all your support either in person or through e-mail helped us to realize what we were competing for - the pride of our country. Through the magic of technology our team felt strong support - not only from the U.S. but from places like Iraq and the U.K. where Americans sent their love and well wishes for our continued success. We could not have done it without you!
US Head Coach Kathy Flores

First off: Congratulations to the Women Eagles! Truly a great accomplishment!
At this point it may be needless to remark that in a tournament with a proper format, with teams split into pools playing round-robins for entrance into the second round, chances are good that the Eagles would have ended up in the semi-finals, maybe even in the Final. Look at the record of the top 5 finishing teams:
1. New Zealand: 5 - 0
2. England: 4 - 1
3. France: 3 - 2
4. Canada: 2 - 3
5. USA: 4 - 1
Not to take anything away from France and Canada, who were both excellent teams, it seems clear that the tournament setup along with luck (or lack thereof) of the draw heavily favored some teams and hindered others in their progress through the tournament.

Atta Baby, Eagles !!
Watched the last 2 tests on my Mac at home. The team seem to get better with each minute of play. Very proud of the performance and the obvious hard preparation of this 2006 USA team. I saw the coaching staff bench, and had flashbacks of multiple World Cup years. This was a World Cup to be remembered, and cherished.

Wow! Way to go Eagles ... what a great final game, and what a way to end this World Cup. That final try was a perfect memory to carry to the next event. Congratulations to you all. We're proud of the way you showed class all through the competition.

What a team! 24-0 vs. Scotland! Congrats to Women Eagles and all the support people who are so much a part of this victory! Mary and I were so proud today of how well you played defense among other things. You forced situations to your benefit very well. The announcer was beside himself and could not find enough words to complement you all on your many efforts on defense and offense as well! Happy days for the red, white, and blue. You made us proud here in St. Louis and, I am sure, around the world. Enjoy your victory today and all your great achievements and wins over this great tournament.

Hi Women Eagles 9-13-06. Wow, I think it all came together for you all in the second game vs. Australia yesterday. What a team play - you all played fantastic and again showed all around the world how great you really are. It was fun to watch and I look forward to seeing you win the next one! Congratulations to not only all of the team, but also the coaches, the assistants, the medical staff, and all the other support people who help make you the champions you are. Thanks too to Jen Doan for her wonderful capture of the team on and off the field with her photos which are terrific.
Fred Kosanke
Strong effort yesterday USA. Very inpressive on both sides of the ball. Just want you to know we are pulling for you here in NJ and watching on the net. Give them hell. When it is all done they will all know who just kicked their butt all over the field. I am so lucky to be Jamie Burke's dad.

Good luck to the Eagles from Iraq. There are many of us out here that wish you the best. No longer can our British friends out here say its a European sport. Looking forward to getting some of the taped games out here.
CPT Marlene Krpata, OCF-Iraq
The word tonight was how "impressive" it was that you took on-board the feedback from Kathy and Candi's meeting w/ the officials and put it into your pattern immediately in the Round 3 match v Aus.
I'm sad to see you gals out of the top 4 as I'd hoped to NOT be eligible for the grand final through your qualification. At this point, take care of business v the Ozzies again - shut them right down and attack, attack, attack as we all know you can. You've 2 matches to win to set us up (more) properly seeded for 2010.
It's been a tough row and you've fronted up to it in the face of doubt and concern. I'm proud to be affiliated with such a class group and look forward to the journey forward (by the way, who of you is going to step up to be in the mix as a referee in 2010 and 2014?!!)
Hopefully I might actually be able to see you play live one of these rounds - I've got to be the ONLY American here in Edmonton who hasn't gotten to cheer you on in person!! Irrespective of physical presence, you've my best wishes and highest hopes.
Regards,
Dana Teagarden

Hi to Pam Kosanke, our daughter, and all the rest of the players, coaches, managers, assistants, and those lucky enough to attend for all the matches. I was fortunate to visit for about a week and saw the first two games. In my life, I have seen a lot of ball at high levels and with women in particular due to Pam's career. You US Eagles have all that it takes to be champions and you are already in my mind. You have the talent, the quickness, the size, the coaches, the experience, etc. and add in that element of "killer instinct" I know you all have, wow, your really good team becomes a really great team; and, no team that I have seen or read about can really, in the end, beat you.
Play with gusto and that instinct today against OZ and all the rest of the games. I know you will and you will win because you are so GREAT at what you do!It was so terrific to see your team's camaraderie on and off the field (and not just sliding down the plastic at the Saturday party or helping Pam retrieve her shoe and hat!). That is so great to see and will be one other success factor in your favor as you take on the OZ today and others that follow. I said "Go Blue" at Michigan for 4 years Pam played there; with pride, I say Go Blue (Red & White)!!!! for you all today. I will be watching from my computer and will be cheering you on to victory! Proud of you all!
Fred Kosanke (sometimes now known as "Mr. Pam") &
Mary Kosanke, Pam's loving Mom who regrets not being able to attend.
Good Luck in your match against the Aussies tomorrow Eagles! I will be thinking about you and sending good winning vibes your way. Visualize, believe in yourselves, perform to the fullest of your capabilities and you will WIN! I miss you all.
Dr. Abby
Kristin (Ham) wish we could be there to watch you win! We are so proud of you. We enjoyed our time with the team. Thank you all for letting us take part in the festivities. Good Luck! Go Eagles.

To the finest women rugby players in the USA -
Congratulations on your victory! However, you have no time to bask in the glory. The hard work is just beginning. You have trained and sacrificed as only a few can truly understand. You are playing for your families, friends, fellow ruggers at home, even yourselves ... but for the next two weeks, you are playing for your teammates and coaches. While many have helped pave the way for your presence at this World Cup, only the intimate group know as the "USA Women Eagles and Staff" can help you now. Mentally and physically you can and will be stronger than your competition, but not without helping one another. Stay tuned into your teammates and do not allow yourself or anyone else to go it alone. You are the best the USA has to offer ... prove it with your passion, desire and resilience. GO USA!!!!
